We Start Today: Ceremony Details

I LOVE reading other bee's posts about their wedding day details. I'm a sucker for an artistic ring shot or a photo of bouquets in the bride and bridesmaids hands. So here are all those special detail shots from our big day!

Here's an artistic ring shot to start us off!
When our guests first arrived they were greeted by our engagement photo guest book, programs and mad lib cards.
Unfortunately not many people participated in the mad libs. I think people forgot to go back and grab them after the ceremony. My bad. But we did get a handful of hilariously clever completed mad libs.
Our Programs. They were a pain to make but our guests really loved them.
Our "UP" card mailbox!
This was a last minute addition. You might recognize those mugs from anthropologie. I went to Osh and grabbed the first orange flowers I could find and planted them in the mugs. I thought it added a little something extra to our gift table.
Our beautiful ceremony site at the Padua Hills Theater
My beautiful poms before they were destroyed.
I was lame and forgot to get a cute hanger for my dress.
My something blue shoes.
My Angels baseball garter.
A close up of my something borrowed bracelet from MOH N.
I love this shot of our rings
My DIY sign! It ended up falling apart after the wedding, but it served its purpose!
We used the ring pillow that my parents used for their wedding. My Mom bought it at a thrift store in 1983.
And what's that I spy attached to the bow?
My Bee charms that were passed onto to me from Mrs. Petit Four.
They took a special ride down the aisle on the ring pillow.
My beautiful bouquet by Cupids Arrow.
I was so pleased with the way my bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets turned out. I really gave no instructions other than, green with some white for the bridesmaids. I happened to mention how much I love tulips and was so happy to see them present in the bridesmaids bouquets.

What was your favorite detail from your ceremony?

We Start Today: Three Generations

After I finished with the bridesmaids I took some photos with my Mom. I was determined not to turn into a sobbing mess. My Mom and I have always been very close but we had a lot of ups and downs during the planning process. There were a couple times when I thought my Mom might up and tell me she wasn't coming. Needless to say I was extremely happy to have this moment with my Mom on my wedding day.

Doesn't she look pretty?? No joke, she bought her dress the week of the wedding. Good thing she didn't need alterations!
When they asked us to look at each other I knew it could turn bad fast so instead of crying I made faces.
You'll see that open mouth smile a lot coming up. It was my go to for stopping tears.
I made it through without any tears! As my Mother and I finished with photos my Grandmother, Nannie, was just arriving. We helped her out of her wheelchair and decided to get some photos right then and there.
Nannie just celebrated her 91st Birthday! Let me just say, the only other person allowed to wear white to a wedding besides the bride is your 90 year old grandmother. I think she looked amazing and as far as I was concerned she could wear whatever she wanted!
My Mom came in and we got a three generations shot. A very emotional
moment again but I kept my cool.
I can tell in this last shot that we were all on there verge of tears. I was so happy my grandmother was there. Don't be fooled she might be 91 but she knows how to party! You'll see more of that later ;)

After this I was taken back to the bridal suite and did not emerge again until it was time to walk down the aisle! Our guests were arriving and it was almost time!!!

We Start Today: Me and My Girls

Once I was finally able to break free from the bridal suite it was time take some photos with my favorite girls in the world!

So happy to finally be outside!
This photo is such perfection. The girls' orange dresses really pop against the greenery.
I love this picture even though MOH N's eyes are closed...
When you tell a group of girls who majored in theater to look at each other and laugh you know they will deliver.
Then tell them to strike a pose and this is what you get
Notice Bridesmaid L on the left peeking through her flowers....
In this photo she is trying to hide all but one eye.
Apparently when we were looking at bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal there was a girl doing this in one of the catalogues. Bridesmaid L thought it must be the "thing" now.
Then I was encouraged to do my "thing." I can close one eye fully while keeping the other eye completely open. Mr. Castle calls it my broken doll look, or my owl eye. It usually comes out when I'm annoyed. It's what I do instead of rolling my eyes.
Close up of my owl eye look. Being able to do this makes putting on eye makeup a breeze!

Next I took some individual photos with each of my girls starting with MOH N. They told us to look at each other and we both immediately started tearing up. This amazing women and I met when we were ten. I was her Maid of Honor eight years earlier and here we were on my wedding day. It didn't take much for us to get emotional.
After we looked at each other for like a second I laughed and said, "Yeah not a good idea." You can see MOH N in the final photo fighting back tears. I had to keep it together because I still had to take photos with all my other ladies.
After each gal took a photo with me they moved over a bit and good some individual shots.
Look at these beautiful ladies! Each girl wore their own unique necklace and accessories. They were complemented on their choices all day!
My gorgeous MOH looking totally flawless after her emotion moment. Can you believe this women has three children???
Before we went back into hiding the bridal suite I needed to get a shoe picture! I let the ladies work out what they wanted to wear shoe wise. I didn't really care if they matched or not. MOH N rocked the leopard shoes. It was a nice way for her to stand out a bit. The other ladies decided to go with a neutral tone. I loved all their choices of accessories and foot wear.

Did you chose your Bridesmaids accessories or did you let them do their own thing?
